Service Description

June 1, reading Anuk Arudpragasam's "A Passage North" One Wednesday evening per month from April to August 2022, we will gather online to explore and discuss one of the books on the 2021 Booker Prize Shortlist. We will look at each acclaimed work, at structure, style on a sentence level, thematic choices and overall effect. In this way we will examine how experienced writers do what they do so well. We will also experiment with generative writing based on the books, allowing the readings to engender deeper exploration in our own work. You are responsible for getting the books yourself. Every workshop will be stand alone. Feel free to pop in and pop out. Dates will be:, April 6, reading Patricia Lockwood's, "No One Is Talking About This" May 4, reading Nadifa Mohamed's, "The Fortune Men" June 1, reading Anuk Arudpragasam's "A Passage North" June 29, reading Richard Power's "Bewilderment."
